" Why don't those people get a job and get off welfare?"

    How many times have you heard, thought, or said something like this about someone on public assistance?
    At Lions Volunteer Blind Industries for the last 50 years we have had  people who are doing  just that-getting  up every   morning, going to work, supporting a    family, buying a home, paying taxes, being an asset to the  community.
    While many of LVBI's blind workers meet or exceed expected standards for job    performance, there are others who are striving to meet these goals in spite of   multiple disabilities. LVBI's "Project       Paycheck" giving program helps those workers through an Employment Scholarship, which pays a living wage as they learn to earn.
    All donations into this fund go directly to eligible blind workers in the form of scholarship wages. LVBI is a 501 (C) 3 not-for-profit organization, and as such, all         donations are tax deductible.
